Briar Rose - Breckenridge

"Located uphill from the Main Street traffic light, the Briar Rose is among the town's most elegant (but still casual) restaurants. Classical paintings, fine music, and linen service underscore Briar Rose's sophisticated atmosphere. The adjoining trophy bar and lounge has big-game heads, sports memorabilia, and a 100-year-old back bar.

In fine weather you can dine alfresco while gazing at the surrounding mountains from the new deck outside the lounge. You can start with escargot, crab-stuffed mushrooms, coconut shrimp, wild game sausage, or homemade soup. Dinners feature game -- usually elk, buffalo, and caribou. Other popular choices include slow-roasted prime rib, veal, steak, duck, lamb, fresh seafood, and vegetarian and pasta entrees. A children's menu is available, and the extensive wine list offers domestic and imported wines." -Review by Frommers

The Briar Rose is open for dinner from 5:00pm - 10:00pm, daily.

This was the best anniversary dinner my husband and I had in 23 years! It must have been because of Mick who gave us a corner, window, quiet and exclusive table 11, Amy our very professional yet personable server who generously gave us fabulous gifts in sparkling Prosecco and the devine and light as a cloud Chocolate Hazelnut Cake! Now the dinner...the melt in your mouth and very generous portion of the famous Briar Rose slow roasted Prime Rib was my husbands favorite part of the night. It was obvious the staff took note of our special night and requests. They accomplished their mission in convincing us to spend future anniversaries at this establishment! I chose the Briar Rose primarily for these two reasons: For me romance, and for my husband MEAT! Well Done BR Staff!

The atmostphere is very nice and the tables were beautifully set. My husband ordered steak, I ordered lobster, it took about 45 minutes before we were served, the food was just "okay", nothing special for the price, everything is alacarte so can be pricey. I don't mind paying for a great meal but this was not it.
