We shared the Alpine Mac N' Cheese and the Chicken Artichoke Panini . With out even asking, the waiter split the panini on two plates and added wonderful fresh cut french fries on each plate. The way the Alpine Mac N' Cheese was served, in a mini cast iron pan, did not allow splitting, but was just set in the middle so we could both pick at it from there. When we go back to Canyons we will definitely be back here and we will probably each get the Mac N' Cheese, as it was absolutely delicious. The panini too was excellent, but the Mac was a bit more comforting on a chilly afternoon. Does anyone know what cheeses are in this? Top notch water service, always important when skiing all day. P.S. make sure to make a reservation, especially on a weekend.
I had the wagyu burger to treat myself, and was not disappointed. It could be one of the best burgers in Park City. However, at $22 it is certainly one of the most expensive in town. It's at the top of the mountain, ski to the front door, so I can't find too much fault in their pricing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a gourmet, on-mountain alternative to regular ski resort cafeteria food. You won't be disappointed.
The Lookout Cabin is by far the finest ski dining experience of all three ski areas in the Park City region. Why pay $25 for mediocre burgers and fries, pizza or chilli when for $40-$50 you can get top notch 5 star food with a nice bottle of wine. In addition the deck on a nice day has awesome views. You may also run into famous celebrities as we have a couple of times. Maybe not an everyday ski stop but definatly one to schedule at least once. Reservations recommended in busy season. As an alternative the Sun Lodge at the canyons offers an affordable prime rib dinner which is also a good alternative to your standard ski lodge flair.
